Heartburn Home Remedies: Food Known to Prevent Heartburn
Dyspepsia, indigestion, and bloating - these are familiar words that can easily be interchanged with heartburn. Heartburn often happens when one has finished eating. A person experiencing heartburn may feel a discomfort around the chest or the abdomen after one has eaten some food or drinks.
If you are among those who experience heartburn every now and then, you might be searching for possible heartburn home remedies. This condition is fairly common and there certainly are home remedies for this. Those that we will mention and discuss briefly here are foods that can help ease away the early signs of heartburn.
One known remedy for heartburn is garlic. We are already familiar with garlic as we use it in a lot of the food that we cook. Medical experts know or at least are familiar with how garlic strengthens the heart and improves the function of the immune system. It is this property that makes it a good herbal health supplement and one of the effective heartburn home remedies.
Another known remedy for heartburn is the tropical fruit, papaya. This is not easy to find especially in a country that has four seasons. However, papaya is known to help greatly with our digestion. And because of this, it is also considered an effective remedy for heartburn. Because fresh papaya is hard to find in countries that aren’t tropical, we can try taking in small amounts of dried papaya that we can find in grocery stores, drugstores and other markets that sell them. Fresh papaya is always better but this might be too difficult to find.
Believe it or not bananas also are known for being one of the heartburn home remedies. You can ease away the heartburn best with bananas that are not overly ripe and fresh. As of now, there are conflicting views on whether bananas are great in remediating for heartburn or not. But to those who believe that they are, they assert that bananas are natural antacids that can relieve anyone of heartburns.
Because of the high concentration of oil found in almonds that can neutralize the acid in the stomach, almonds are considered remedies for heartburn. A handful of these raw ones, can help ease away the heartburn when the first few symptoms are felt.
Last, we have the apple cider vinegar. This is known to ease away the early signs of heartburn. We know vinegar as a base and being such, it is common knowledge that it neutralizes the stomach acid. People believe that this causes contraction of the sphincter so acid in the stomach does not go up to the esophagus. Brave souls would take a teaspoon of pure cider vinegar to ease the early stages of heartburn away but some would stick with a mixture of the vinegar, water, baking soda and sugar.
The heartburn home remedies that we’ve mentioned here are easily found anywhere. Some may not be very abundant, but at least we won’t have to turn to drugs that can give greater side effects than these natural home remedies.
